May Goals

Post by GeneHunt59 » Fri May 01, 2015 12:44 pm

My running goals for May:-

- Injury free
- get more long training runs in in preparation for first HM in June
- no PB targets this month, as concentrating more on HM training, tho have three 10K races, so the opportunity is there
5K PB: 23:18
5 Mile PB: 37:44
10K PB: 47:48
10 Mile PB: 1:20:15
Half Marathon PB: 1:54:32
C25K grad: 2nd August 2014

Mine:

- Injury Free (although this is sort of an all-the-time goal for me :D ).
- Run more hills (and walk them when it is smarter to do so).
- Run 4-5 days a week.
- Be ready (mentally and physically) for my first HM Trail Race in June.

I need to get back on track as I have really struggled with motivation lately.

Goal for May is at least 240kms
PB's
5km: 21:06 - Point Cook parkrun
10km: 46:17 - Run Melbourne 2014
15: 1:22:18 - Run for the Kids 2014
Two Bays 28km: 2:52
42.2: 4:02:30 - Melbourne Marathon 2014

Managed to avoid Injury
Didn't get as many long training runs in as I would have liked, but still ran 100 miles in a month for the first time
Went under 25 minutes for 5K for the first time and set new PB for 10K twice during May - the first by 1 minute and the second by nearly 2 minutes.
During the second 10K race I beat my 5K PB in the first half of the race - albeit only by a second - 24:57 compared to 24:58 in 5K race, and the course was more difficult!
Had a pesky cold at the end of the month, which hasn't gone away yet, and has interfered with my HM training a little unfortunately. Still it has forced me to taper.

Bad month. Shin didn't like too much my 17k run, and physio told me not to run.
Also, had so many long hours at work, I have only been able to go once to the gym in May.

Month written off that will set me back for a while :(

I just hope i can break that cycle of progress - injury, otherwise I don't know if i'll be able to keep my motivation :(
Already I have been slacking a lot on my stretches and exercises... used to do 30 minutes a day, now maybe 30 minutes a week :( :(
