I can go back and check my runs over the years and I can guarantee that nearly 100% of my runs are negative splits - meaning that the last half of my run is faster than the first half. I always start off slower than I end up.

Today's run was OK....not great, but it'll do..
4.3km in 30:14.
I did notice (thanks to Map My Run!) that I slowed as I progressed through the run.

A better run today...I started a bit quicker and managed to hold my pace for longer.
4.54 km in 30:22, average pace 6:41/km. Can't wait to get rid of the :41!
There's a couple of small hills on my run, and I find it difficult to recover to my normal stride after going downhill...any ideas?

Oh, and I've dropped to under 100kg for the first time in 6 months or so! :D :D

Hill are hard! No matter how small, they screw up your timing and stride, but it's something you have to live with if you want to run outdoors. There are 2 way to handle going down hill: leaning back and taking small braking steps or lean forward and take long, giant steps - it's a personal choice.

Congrats on the weight loss!
