Not a good weekend, did W2D1 on Friday went very well. Went out for a meal on Friday night and tripped over off the curb walking home. Foot on the arch and above ankle is now quite bruised and was painful to stand on yesterday but a lot better today. Going to leave it a few days but hope doesn't affect progress too badly, maybe a week before running on it to give it time to heal properly.

Sorry to hear about your injury! Allowing time for healing is the smartest choice, but also the hardest!

Back out this evening, first evening run as the mornings start to draw in. Want to keep in routine as much as possible. Ankle seems OK, am feeling a little pain there after but really nothing bad... so was probably inadvisable but I couldn't help but go

Hopefully your runs will be pain-free from here on out. Keeping to a routine is the key for me. Otherwise, it's too easy to make excuses about why I can't go on any given day.

Slow progress the last few weeks.. Had to skip some days due to my foot but now on W3D3 so still making progress! Heard scary things about W5 which isn't too far away!

Congrats on your progress! Don't worry about W5 (yes, it's scary!!) but if you've done all the other runs leading up to it, you shouldn't have too much trouble with it (except for mentally - and a lot of running is mental!)

After two weeks over the holidays (mixture of being abroad and Christmas has meant I haven't found time to get out) it's time to get back at it. Starting at W4 D1 again hopefully won't have lost too much over two weeks. Need to do this!!

Right a year later. Not a failure, more a delay as priorities changed. Though there was some failure involved! No time limit in reality though... I'm now 16lbs lighter than my first post here, and have been concentrating on weight and strength training, starting from nothing there but 3x 1hr sessions a week I have found a lot more effective during weight loss than cardio (and a lot better on my knees and ankles!). Mostly cos I found I wanted to push harder in the gym than run further on a cold muddy footpath :D

However im now building it back into my plans and have just finished W4D1.. 4.75k in 29.50min (I reached my front door before the cool down finished, must change my turn around point!)

Finding it a lot better now, I've even run through the "brisk walks" on occasion and kept going past the cool down. Wanted to ease in a bit.

Now on the final push to succeed after 15 months rather than 6 weeks but I'm in a much better place now - when I started I couldn't do the 3 minutes! THIS summer will be the one

Reading this forum again for motivation but it seems to pretty dead now, where's everyone moved to?!
