Great start.

Don't worry about where you go just enjoy what you're achieving.

Re: Hi all......again! (And a question..)

Great spot to run. I work in Braybrook and often run down to Canning Reserve at lunchtime. Some nice hills around there too ;)

Have you looked into parkrun at all? Maribyrnong parkrun starts near the Anglers and would be a good way of getting in a run/walk every week.

Re: Hi all......again! (And a question..)

Hi Stikman, Depends on the run really. I wouldn't push things too soon but the walking will be a good thing as long as you don't push it too much. Running 3 times a week with some form of cardio on the 'off' days would work well right now but stay out of the heat on Melbourne days like this :) Where...

Re: C25K progress....

Nice work. Once you get through this week take your time. I know when I completed the program I spent about a month just running for 30 minutes before I started to build up to longer distances. parkrun is a great goal too. I'm the event director at my local parkrun and there's nothing better for me ...

Re: Repeating weeks

You'll have good days and bad days.

Don't stress over repeating weeks but have a think about slowing down your pace if 3 minutes seems like a lot at this stage.

Re: C25K progress....

Good stuff.

Just take it slow and steady for a few weeks and ice the heel if you think you need to. That will help with some of the general soreness.

Re: Well that could have gone better...W1D1

Well done on getting out there. That's the hardest part but once you commit to it I promise it gets easier :) When you're running start to think about your breathing. Try and take slow deep breaths and breathe out every 3/4 steps. After a while you'll get used to breathing that way when you run and ...

Re: C25K progress....

Well done on getting back into it.

I would drop back a week or two so that you aren't putting as much pressure on the Achilles by running too long before a break. After a few weeks it should be all good.

Re: Breathing

Hi Angie,

Slow deep breaths work best for me.

Breathe in and then try and breathe out after 3 or 4 steps. Takes a bit to get used to but works well.

Good luck :)
