Still plugging away, trying to do at least 3 x 5K per week. No improvement in my 5K time yet (haven't tried in fact) although I did do 32:00 in an interval run. I did do a 1hr 9m 10K though.

Also trying to improve my diet to get some weight off.

I've had one go at a "fast" 5K time and improved my best time this year to 30:29. I've been doing some longer runs as well - did a 12Km one at the weekend and a 13km one last night. I'm thinking about gradually increasing the duration of my long runs and maybe having a go at a half-marathon.

Glad to see that you're still getting out there! You should definitely try for the HM distance - it's a great goal!

In June so far I've already run more than in any single month in the past - 119Km so far. My previous best month was September 2014 when I did 114km. I'm doing more long runs now than I did then - so far this month I'd done 2 x 10K, 1 x 12K and 1 x 13K. This mornings 10K was 1h 05m 28s which was just a few seconds off my best ever 10K time. What was unusual was that it was done with run/walk intervals - 3 minutes running then 1 minute walking for the first 5K (which was under 32 minutes), then 2.5 minutes running and 1.5 minute walking for the 2nd 5K (which was about 33:30). I'm having some trouble with my knees so am hoping that introducing walking intervals will help but what's really interesting is that it's not having much of an impact on my times (and with longer runs might even be improving them).

At the moment I seem to be as good as I've ever been at longer duration runs but still have some way to go to get back to my best 5K pace - I'm still 2 minutes away from my best ever time. Just got to keep plugging away!

Cheers Bob. I think I'm pretty much back to where I was in 2014 - it's taken a couple of solid months but I thought it'd take longer so quite pleased with progress at the moment.

I've just nipped under 5 minutes for 1 km for the first time every as well with a 4:51, and also got a new 1 mile PB at 8:23 - so still seeing a bit of progress!

I've been struggling with a sore calf muscle for the last week however it was feeling a bit better today so I headed out to try a 5K on my flat/fast course. I was pretty sure I'd get under 30 minutes again but managed to slip in just under 29 minutes with a 28:59. That's my 3rd best 5K time ever and the first time I've been under 29 minutes since 2014 so pleased with that.
