Re: New to all this......

Still running!!! My husband and I completed our 3rd 5K yesterday!!! Huge event. Approx 800+ or so runners - the biggest event for us so far. For some reason, I thought my first two 5K's were timed a lot faster, but looking back at my times again..... 1st 5K time: 36:51 (only 40 participants) March 2...

Re: Breathing

I had the same problem in the beginning.... and I discovered, I was going too fast. It's easy to get 'overly excited' about starting running, but at the same time...you need to take it easy so you don't get frustrated and over-exerted. The sole purpose right now, is to find that happy 'pace' where y...

Re: New to all this......

Sounds like you're well on your way to becoming a "lifer"!! Congrats on all your successes!! Bob S. I surely hope so!! And Thanks! We've both kinda started on the C210K app..... Well, kinda. With time constraints & busy lives - we can only do those on the weekends. He's a lot farther along than I a...

We've been running in the mornings where its bearable temperature wise (it gets 85+ ). He started working on the 10K app and have convinced me to try it...

Re: C25K on the Apple Watch?

I was told that the C25K app worked on the Apple Watch but I can't seem to get it to show/work. Anyone know if it does work? I don't want to sound like this is a stupid question, but did you download the Apple Watch version of the App? It won't be the same app on the watch, as it would be on the ph...

Re: Hiya!

I know I'm not doing it for anyone else but it really is deflating when you read that everyone else found something easy and you are struggling so much. I am still unwell so I haven't even got past day 2 week 1. Right now it feels like I never will! I'm still going out to walk the dog but that real...

Re: New to all this......

My husband and I finished our 2nd 5K on Saturday!! I'm very proud to have shaved 2 1/2 minutes off my time!! My first 5K was 37 minutes (36:59) in March. This 5K I finished in 34:26 I've continued to run 3 miles on a regular basis every other day approx. The knees have gotten better since I stopped ...

Re: Hiya!

The one thing you need to remember.... You're not doing this for everyone else. You're doing this FOR YOU!!! Who cares about what 'everyone' else thinks!!! You will get there!! Starting the program is the hardest part!! Sticking with it is even harder especially if you're not seeing any progress. It...

Re: Prepping for 5K food intake.....

I never eat anything more than a banana for any run that's under 10 miles. I know everyone's different, but that's what works for me, Bob S. Thanks Bob! No 'big' breakfast (per say)?? I've been eating bananas also and a bit of fruit/nut mix and glass of juice for breakfast. I guess the 5K runs aren...

Re: Newbie introduction

Great to hear your enjoying it so far!! GOOD LUCK!!! Just remember....always keep the chin up, don't push it or over-do it, take as much time as you need to get to the end of the program, and keep up the regular exercise!! You'll get there!!! I can totally relate to the shoes....I started with Brook...
